Congratulations to the Rotary E-Club and the Rotary Club of Sinkor, Libera on being awarded $55,000 DDF from  D5870  on Global Grant for Oxygen Refilling Plant for Rural Health Facilities in Liberia. The grant was lead by Rotarian Madea Badio, and Rotarians, Dr. Erik Svenkerud, Faith David and Joan Bohls. Rotarian Madea scheduled many meetings and encouraged the writing of the grant in a timely manner.  She also set up run throughs on the presentation to ask for the money which was essential since only 15 minutes was allowed for presentation and 15 minutes for questions. Rotarian Elizabeth Mulbah was at the district  zoom meeting and answered questions about the grant.  Prayers were lifted the night before since everyone  knew we had a high mountain to climb.  The committee had been asked to scale down the request since 4 district clubs were asking for money for their global grants.  Prayers were answered!  There is still work to be done by the Rotary E-Club and funds to be raised as well as the Rotary Club of Sinkor, Liberia but everyone is celebrating !

Letter :
Congratulations, your club's Global Grant for Oxygen Refilling Plant for Rural Health Facilities was awarded $55,000 in DDF from District 5870.  Due to the uncertainties of Rotary funding for our District, this amount may fluctuate, please confirm with the District Foundation leadership before you put the grant into final submit status.  The submit deadline is June 30th, 2023, however I would encourage your club to submit the grant as soon as possible.  RI has been running out of DDF each year, which would put you in the top of the queue for the following year, creating unnecessary delays.  Please ensure that you have 4 participating  partners in our District with a minimum contribution of $100.  Congratulations again, wishing you all success on this wonderful grant.
Best,
Ellen Hunt
