Rotary E-Club of Central Texas eBulletin August 2025
President's Message
"UNITE FOR GOOD"
Fellow Rotarians:
Welcome to a new Rotary year when we “Unite for Good”. This is the Rotary International theme that emphasizes the power of human connection and collaboration to create positive change and address community needs. I am encouraging all of you to approach this year with the idea that you will make a difference in the life of an individual or to an entire community. Working together, as a team, we can look forward to a year full of accomplishments.
Thank you for being a member of our Rotary family!
DG Todd Smith | Engage With Passion | July 15,2025
It was an honor to have District Governor Todd Smith as the Guest Speaker at our first meeting of the Rotary year. Todd emphasized the importance of passion in Rotary, urging clubs to rekindle outreach efforts and attract new members through welcoming virtual meetings and positive experiences. He highlighted the Rotary Foundation's vital role in funding humanitarian projects and global efforts, encouraging generous contributions to the Annual Fund and Polio Plus. Todd also urged support for emerging leaders, sharing his personal growth within Rotary and announcing key events such as the Rose Parade trip and District Peace Conference. Governor Todd’s speech inspired members with a focus on global service projects, and a video of his song, "Engage with Passion," resonated deeply with all in attendance.

Historic rains have brought devastating floods to Central Texas, displacing families, destroying homes, and upending lives. While some Rotary clubs in our District were spared, others were hit hard—and the need for help is urgent.
Rotary District 5870 is stepping up to Create Hope and Rebuild Lives. This is our time to take action—to lead with compassion, respond with generosity, and serve with purpose.
