Tricia Johnson - Club Treasurer
Tricia is a native Texan, born and raised in Houston. She attended Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State University) after high school and did not declare a major until her mom suggested a field that aligned with her passion for the environment.  She earned her Bachelor of Science in Natural Resource Management in 1993.  After working for approximately five years, she decided to get her MBA, which she finished in 2003, while continuing to work full time.  Prior to graduating with her BS, Tricia served as an intern for a company called INTERA.  She must have impressed them while working as an intern, because they hired her as a full time environmental scientist that same year.  She has been working for INTERA since 1993 and has lived in Austin, Albuquerque, NM and Carlsbad, NM during that time.  She has filled numerous technically focused positions with INTERA including field scientist, monitoring task lead, and project manager.  Approximately seven years ago, she decided to transition to more of a marketing role for the company, and as of January 1, 2021 she is now the Vice President of Marketing at INTERA.

Tricia joined Rotary in 2006, while living in Carlsbad, NM.  After moving to Carlsbad in 2004, she found it somewhat difficult to meet people in the small town and someone took her to a Rotary meeting.  The international service that Rotary provides is what interested her the most about the organization.  She joined Rotary and quickly thereafter got involved in a sister charity, United by Friendship, which was initially developed to partner with Rotary in health, education, and water projects in Guatemala.  Tricia has continued serving with both Rotary and United by Friendship and now serves as the Secretary of UbF.  She has traveled to Guatemala for service work seven times since joining the organization.  For Rotary, she has served as the Treasurer of the Carlsbad, NM club and for the EClub, and as the President of the EClub.

In her free time, Tricia enjoys traveling, spending time with her boyfriend, dog, family, and friends, and being outside hiking, swimming, and birdwatching.  One of her passions is traveling and she has been to over 25 countries for various adventures.

Better Friendship
One of the challenges of an E-Club and of the pandemic is building better friendships.  So the goal of Rotarian of the Month is to know each other better.   When you are named please forward me a picture and lots of information about you- like where you grew up, family, schools, career, hobies, Rotary service.  We want to get to know each other.  We would also like for you to do a "classification talk" at our monthly zoom meeting.  Let's keep working towards getting to know each other better.
