Dr. Erik Svenkerud was an angel who helped me, facilitated, and took care of my travel to the U.S. He was my sponsor. I studied Psychology and Social Work at Concordia College. With mattress distributions still underway in Lviv, our team in eastern Europe is finalizing the details of our next roundof vital aid distributions.
In coordination with our partner, ReliefAid, we will be delivering high thermal blankets, hygiene kits, solar lights, and water carriers to families internally displaced within Ukraine. With many people living in heavily damaged buildings, we are also providing Shelter Kits containing tools, tarps, and ropes to make repairs.
Our third distribution phase will focus on Ukrainian refugees who have recently fled to neighboring countries, like Oxana, providing them with high-priority items they can easily carry with them.
One of the challenges of an E-Club and of the pandemic is building better friendships. So the goal of Rotarian of the Month is to know each other better. When you are named please forward me a picture and lots of information about you- like where you grew up, family, schools, career, hobies, Rotary service. We want to get to know each other. We would also like for you to do a "classification talk" at our monthly zoom meeting. Let's keep working towards getting to know each other better.
Tuesday's Board meeting was both on zoom and in person. President elect Twyla was in Austin so several members gathered for pizza during the board meeting. I must say we had lots of fun and laughs being together and had long discussions about Rotary.
Make a difference- plant a tree for Earth Day!
