President jerry received this letter about Global Climate Pledge.  We will discuss what this means and bringing it to our club board.
My name is Steve Bender, I am serving my 5th term as a club President in the last decade. I am sending the Rotary Club of E-Club of 5870 a special invitation to join 350+ Rotary clubs from 77 countries around the world and participate in our club’s newest program called the Global Climate Pledge.
The purpose of this pledge is to get top leaders and organizations together to create a positive exponential shift in climate change and our environment.

Why should your club sign the pledge?
  • It addresses the “Environment” which is Rotary’s newest 7th area of focus
  • It is simple to do from the comfort of your home. (See 3 easy steps below)
  • It helps to “build bridges” with other Rotary Clubs
  • We send your club's name to Rotary International so your club will receive credit for partnering in an international project for this year! (In past years, working on projects with other Rotary Clubs was a qualifying option for the Rotary Presidential Citation.)
And as part of our pledge, we aim to get 2 Billion people to sign the pledge in the next 2.5 years. Rotary is used to taking on BIG challenges and now is the time for us to tackle climate change!

To participate, start by following these 3 easy steps below:
  1. Click on the link provided HERE
  2. Fill out the information needed for your rotary club
  3. After selecting your action items, please click on the “Include my business on the signatories page” . This will allow your club to receive notoriety for participating in the Global Climate Pledge.
Once you have signed the pledge on behalf of your Rotary Club, we will send you social media and pledge materials to share online or with your members.

Thank you for participating in this very important program. We look forward to working with you and your members!

Yours in Rotary,
Steve Bender
